Glynis Kozma is an author and freelance journalist who has written for all the national broadsheets and a range of consumer magazines. She’s also a qualified teacher of English and a trained coach – a member of the Association for Coaching. She combines her writing and teaching these courses with coaching individuals on careers, personal development and their writing.
Before changing careers she taught English for over twenty years in the state and independent sectors, and in colleges. Glynis was also a tutor for the National Extension College, which provides distance learning, teaching English to mature students, giving her valuable experience in providing feedback and support for students studying at home.
Her books Secondary School and Leaving Home were published by Need2Know in 2010. These are self-help books aimed at parents and young people leaving home, respectively. Glynis has written for The Times, Daily Telegraph, Guardian, Independent, Independent on Sunday, a wide range of consumer magazines including The Lady, Healthy, Britain, Woman, Essentials, Saga, Prima Online, and parenting magazines Right Start and Independent School Parent. Until its recent closure, she wrote regularly for AOL’s Parentdish website (now transferred to the Huffington Post.) She is a regular contributor to the ‘i’ and Independent newspapers and their special supplements on careers and higher education options. She writes mainly on education, parenting and careers. Glynis is often invited to contribute to BBC local and national radio on these topics.
Liat Hughes Joshi is a London-based non-fiction author and journalist who specialises in writing about parenting, education and lifestyle issues.
She’s had book deals, either directly or after mergers, with six different publishers ranging from mid-size independents to two of the largest publishers in the world.
Her first title, What to Buy for Your Baby, was published by White Ladder Press in 2009, with a second edition under Carroll & Brown which came out in 2012. Carroll & Brown have since been acquired by Hachette subsidiary Octopus.
Liat’s second book, Raising Children: The Primary Years was published by Pearson’s Prentice Hall Life imprint in 2010. Her third and fourth titles (‘New Old-fashioned Parenting’ and ‘Unplug your Child’) were published in 2015 by Summersdale’s Vie imprint. Foreign editions of her books have been published in Romania, Italy and India.
As a freelance journalist, Liat has been a regular contributor to The Sunday Times and The Daily Telegraph, as well as Mother and Baby, and Pregnancy and Birth magazines and the popular website Parentdish. She has also been quoted as an expert on parenting issues in a variety of magazines, newspapers and websites and appeared on Sky News, ITV, and BBC Radio 4 and 5 Live and local stations.
Before changing careers in 2003, Liat spent nine years working as a management consultant in a role that included designing and running training courses and writing proposals.
